Chilling, Thrilling Sounds of the Haunted House (1979 version)

Note: I'm avoiding mention of the "D" word because "D" has been known to get upset about sharing even their most inane and well out of print products.

For some reason, the 1979 version of this record, which is completely different visually and sound-wise from the much more popular orange/white 1964 version, is much harder to find a download of, even one for purchase. So here it is. I was reluctant to upload it because my copy has a big chip in it on the side, though it doesnt' seem to cut off anything too significant. Still, if anyone has a higher quality upload of this I'd appreciate a link.

EDIT: Thanks to darylbrownell for providing a link to a cassette version of this record:

EDIT 2: Above link is down. Thank the feds for that one.

PC Treasures, Inc. - House of Horror (2011)

Another one of the newer PCT compilations; same artists who did Cries From The Crypt. I als ogot Midnight Mausoleum, but it isn't recognized by my disc drive for soem reason so unfortunately it won't be put up here :(

Forum Novelties - Haunted Horror Sounds

Oh boy, this one is a treat. Probably one of the cheapest looking/sounding halloween ambient albums ever, but charmingly so. Plus I really like the typography on this one, that and the hand-drawn image is awesome. There was apparently a version where the witch silhouette in the upper left was replaced with a pentagram... perhaps removed to not offend [ignorant] christians? Originally came in a blister pack.

Drew's Famous - Halloween Spooky Sound Effects Twisted Edition

More stuff from Drew's.

PC Treasures, Inc. - Cries From The Crypt (2011)

One of the newer ambient albums, and this time the artists are credited! For soem reason, this seems to be rather rare amongst these types of albums, PCT or otherwise. Classical music, eerie atmospheres, stock sound effects.

Drew's Famous - 57 Haunted House Horrors (2010)

Another "57 ___" compilation.

Drew's Famous - 57 Haunts of Halloween (2010)

One of two "57 ___" compilations I own from Drew's/TUTM, and probably not the last.

Drew's Famous - Fright Flicks (2010)

A nice collection of horror movie themes and sfx from Drew's Famous, which should also become a household name. It says copright by TUTM (Turn Up The Music) Entertainment, but really they're the same thing as they're mentioned on practically every release of this nature put out by Drew's. Also, the DVD isn't in this download, sorry. There's plenty of clips online; you're not missing much.

Viderex International Ltd. - Halloween Sounds of Horror (1995)

An older album I found at a Goodwill store. Pretty cheap looking, like a 90's spraypainted haunted house carnival ride should be.

KRB Music Companies - Halloween Horrors (2007)

A pretty good one I picked up at a Menards in [I guess] 2007. Could be the same as PC Treasures, given that the font on the back is somewhat reminiscent of what they use, but any company that lists the runtime of each track is a good one in my eyes.

PC Treasures, Inc. - Scary Sounds (2010)

More ambient sfx from PCT.

Echo Bridge - Scary Sounds of the Night *aka* Fright Night

Released on CD in a DVD case by Echo Bridge Entertainment, who are known for their various budget DVD releases of both licensed and public domain films, this also was apparently released on tape as "Fright Night" by Gemstone and Sterling Entertainment(s?). Though this rip comes form the former version.

PC Treasures, Inc. - Sounds of Halloween (2005)

The other, later disc with this title. At first I thought PC Treasures ripped off Madacy's version and just shortened it by half, but despite the identical intros, the remainder of the composition is quite different. Plus it's in stereo. What happened?

Madacy Entertainment Group - Sounds of Halloween (2001)

The first disc I've come across with this title, and while it's certainly longer (about an hour) I think it's also in mono... weird...

PC Treasures, Inc. - Sounds of Horror (2005)

Another one from PC Treasures, this time more on the spooky ambient side of halloween sfx albums. There was also a later pressing of this particular album in 2010, in a full jewel case. The 2005 version came in a cardboard slip, though both versions are exactly the same (unlike some other stuff coming up soon...).

PC Treasures, Inc. - Very Scary Night (2010)

Alright, first legit post!

This compilation was released in 2010 by PC Treasures, a name you'll all be familiar with soon, if you'r nto already familiar with it. Not too interesting: mostly pieces of classical music. Worth a listen nonetheless.
